Welcome to Precision Weave
Welcome to the first edition of the Precision Weave newsletter. It’s been a busy few weeks since I finished my old job but I’m really pleased at how my website and blog have taken shape and I have made a really nice business knowledge base to make me more productive - all powered by AI, of course.
All the best,
Adrian

How Does AI Actually Work?
We’ve all been there. You ask a question about something simple and obvious and the AI confidently replies with a load of plausible-sounding cobblers!
But why does this happen and what can we do about it?
Understanding how AI creates its replies is one of the most important things to understand as you start to use it more and more. It will help you avoid using AI when it’s the wrong tool for the job, and get better results when it is.

Website Ready
A website’s work is never done, but mine is now at a point where you can find out about all the services Precision Weave offers and get in contact if you want more. It’s designed to help people at all stages of AI adoption. I have a free consultation for the curious, an AI Head Start pack for people who are ready to get started and AI Automations for those who are using AI already and want to move on to being hands off for some things so they can be more productive.
Editorial
One of the joys of starting your own business is that you are free from corporate inertia that forces you to use yesterday’s tools.
Like many, I started building a business knowledge base in Notion but then I came across a thriving community of people making their own Personal AI Assistant/Chief Of Staff and Personal Productivity systems so I exported all my files as text and started using Claude Code to help me manage it.
The effect on my productivity was immediate and remarkable.
Need a profile for LinkedIn? No problem - just load up my CV and ask Claude for a first draft. Need copy for a new product on the website - easy; just load up all the product details and produce a draft. The best thing is that your changes appear directly in your files as simple text that you can give to other agents. Even better, I’m not paying £30 a month to lock my data away on someone else’s servers.
Unfortunately, that kind of AI superpower was limited to people like me who are comfortable working at the command line using agents designed for writing code. That all changed this week when Anthropic released Claude Cowork - a product designed to make it easy for anyone to run an AI Agent directly on the files on their computer and create new artifacts directly in the browser using a familiar interface. No more copying-and-pasting between chat windows and files - now you can just connect (securely!) to your computer and start work.
Why Does This Matter?
I think this kind of AI-first app is going to be massive in 2026. We’re moving on from AI being all about tacking AI chat onto everything, whether you want it or not, into a world where truly AI-powered apps like this become possible and commonplace. Cowork is an early product but it will grow up really quickly and you should give it a go. Even if you decide it’s not for you right now, it’s always worth knowing how something works so you can spot the product that’s right for you when it comes along.
It’s definitely an area I will continue to explore - and maybe even build out into a product - so watch this space.
