Practical AI Talk

These are the materials from “Practical AI for Small Business,” a talk given by Adrian Mowat of Precision Weave at three West Highland Chamber of Commerce events in spring 2026:

  • Fort William — 28 April
  • Skye — 5 May
  • Oban — 12 May

Each was an hour-long, hands-on session for micro and small business owners. The talk follows a single fictional character, Ellen, who runs the Lochside Lodge — a West Highland hotel. Through Ellen’s journey planning an off-season spa conversion, you see AI applied to real business decisions in sequence: brainstorming unknowns, stress-testing a proposal, generating concept visuals, reading supplier documents, and handing project management to an AI agent so her involvement is decisions, not admin.

What’s in the bundle

slides/ — The presentation deck.

prompts/ — The prompts Ellen used throughout the demo, cleaned up and ready to adapt for your own business. Also includes the live illustration prompts from the Skye session (not used at all venues).

transcripts/ — The full AI conversations from the demo, so you can see how the exchanges actually played out: the brainstorm where Ellen mapped out her unknowns before committing, the stress test where the original proposal fell apart and was rebuilt, and the working proposal she brought into it.

images/ — The AI-generated visuals from the talk — the floor plan sketch and interior concept renders of the spa.

agents/ — Everything from the Claude Cowork demo: the actual project files the agent was working from (business profile, project tracker, budget, decisions log, supplier record), a setup guide for replicating it with your own business, and the decision briefs the agent produced live.
